     Captain James Franklin McMahon Bland was born on 16 June 1905 at County Dublin, Ireland.1,2 He was the son of Francis Christopher Cecil Bland and Mary Green Uprichard.3 He married Jess Buchan Brodie, daughter of Major Harry Campbell Brodie, on 29 February 1936.1 He died in 1984.2
     He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Canadian Army.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Headquarters, Pacific Command.1 As of 1976, Captain James Franklin McMahon Bland lived at 14 Tullybrannigan Road, Newcastle, County Down, IrelandG.1
