     He was educated at Stephen's Green School, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He was commissioned in 1914, in the service of the Irish Fusiliers.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was transferred to the Indian Army in 1918.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He retired from the military in 1946, with the rank of Brigadier, late of the Indian Amry.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1973.1
