     Francis Goold Moroney Stoney was born on 29 April 1837.1 He was the son of Thomas George Stoney and Anna Henrietta Waller.1 He married Annie Elizabeth Duncan, daughter of Alexander Duncan, on 10 August 1865.2 He died on 7 August 1897 at age 60.1
     He was inventor of the 'Roller Slouice', used by the Nile barrages.1 He was registered as a Civil Engineer (C.E.)1 He lived at Ipswich, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
