     Hon. John Montagu William North was born on 28 February 1905.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Frederick George North, 8th Earl of Guilford and Mary Violet Pawson.2 He married, firstly, Muriel Norton Hicking, daughter of Sir William Norton Hicking, 1st Bt. and Mabel Eking, on 30 April 1927.1 He and Muriel Norton Hicking were divorced in 1939.1 He married, secondly, Marion Dyer Chase, daughter of Frank Irving Chase, on 23 June 1939.1 He and Marion Dyer Chase were divorced in 1949.1 He married, thirdly, Polleen Wheatland Peabody, daughter of Richard Rogers Peabody and Mary Phelps Jacobs, in 1951.1 He married, fourthly, Wendy Alexandra Peters, daughter of Francis Robert Peters, in 1961.1 He and Polleen Wheatland Peabody were divorced in 1960.1 He died in 1987.1

Sir William Norton Hicking, 1st Bt.1

     Sir William Norton Hicking, 1st Bt. was born on 12 December 1864.2 He was the son of George Hicking and Sarah Norton Hustwayte.2 He married Mabel Eking, daughter of William George Eking, on 10 July 1890.2 He died on 18 April 1947 at age 82.2
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1913.2 He was created 1st Baronet Hicking, of Southwell and Brackenhurst, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 5 July 1917.2 He was created 1st Baronet Hicking, of Southwell and Brackenhurst, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 1 March 1920, with a special remainder to the to the heirs male of his daughters successively.2 On his death his 1917 baronetcy became extinct.2

     Muriel Norton Hicking was the daughter of Sir William Norton Hicking, 1st Bt. and Mabel Eking.2 She married Hon. John Montagu William North, son of Lt.-Col. Frederick George North, 8th Earl of Guilford and Mary Violet Pawson, on 30 April 1927.1 She and Hon. John Montagu William North were divorced in 1939.1 She died in 1989.1
     From 30 April 1927, her married name became North.
