     Edward George Younger, 3rd Viscount Younger of Leckie was born on 21 November 1906.1 He was the son of James Younger, 2nd Viscount Younger of Leckie and Maud Gilmour.1 He married Evelyn Margaret McClure, daughter of Sir Alexander Logan McClure and Jessie Evelyn Ramsay Hotson, on 7 June 1930.1 He died on 25 June 1997 at age 90.1
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 7th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1928 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1940.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1941.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the General Staff.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Younger of Leckie, of Alloa, co. Clackmannan [U.K., 1923] in 1946.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Younger, of Leckie, co. Clackmannan [U.K., 1911] in 1946.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Stirlingshire between 1947 and 1964.1 He was director of George Younger and Son in 1963.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant (D.L.) of Stirlingshire in 1964.1
