     Sir Walter Thomas William Spencer-Stanhope was born on 21 December 1827.1 He was the son of John Spencer Stanhope and Lady Elizabeth Wilhelmina Coke.1 He married Elizabeth Julia Buxton, daughter of Sir John Jacob Buxton, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Cholmeley, on 17 January 1856.1 He died on 17 November 1911 at age 83.1

     Elizabeth Julia Buxton was the daughter of Sir John Jacob Buxton, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Cholmeley.1 She married Sir Walter Thomas William Spencer-Stanhope, son of John Spencer Stanhope and Lady Elizabeth Wilhelmina Coke, on 17 January 1856.1 She died on 30 September 1880.1
     From 17 January 1856, her married name became Spencer-Stanhope.1
