John FitzHenry Townsend1

     John FitzHenry Townsend was baptised on 1 January 1811.1 He was the son of Henry Owen Becher Townsend and Anne Homan.2 He married Ellen Armstrong, daughter of Reverend George Armstrong, on 24 March 1840.1 He died on 2 February 1893 at age 82.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1829 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Irish Bar in 1834.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1847.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Judge of the Admiralty Court [Ireland] in 1867.1 He lived at Seafield, Castletownshend, County Cork, IrelandG.1

     Major Henry FitzJohn Townsend was born on 18 February 1841.1 He was the son of John FitzHenry Townsend and Ellen Armstrong.2 He married, firstly, Mary Caroline Bushe, daughter of Arthur Bushe, on 15 November 1870.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Martin, daughter of Richard James Martin, on 27 September 1900.2
     He gained the rank of officer in the 26th Regiment Cameronians.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He gained the rank of Major and Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Scottish Rifles.1 He lived at Seafield, Castletownshend, County Cork, IrelandG.1
