Major William Brereton1

     Major William Brereton was born on 16 May 1723.1 He was the son of William Brereton and Alice Norcott.2 He married, secondly, Harriet Hooley.1 He married, firstly, Marion Edmonston in 1747.1 He died on 13 January 1813 at age 89.1
     Bath 1777 80.1 He gained the rank of Cornet in the 6th Inniskilling, Dragoon Guards.1 He fought in the Battle of Culloden in 1746.1 He was Master of Ceremonies at Lower Assembly Rooms between 1777 and 1780 at Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1

Janetta Brereton1

     Janetta Brereton was the daughter of Major William Brereton and Marion Edmonston.2 She married, firstly, George Brereton, son of George Brereton and Alicia Freeman, on 19 November 1771.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Robert Kennan, son of Thomas Kennan, in 1783.1 She died in 1825.1
     From 1783, her married name became Kennan.1 She sold New Abbey in 1807 to Lt.-Gen. Robert Brereton.1

     He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He had one son.1 He lived at Carlow, County Carlow, IrelandG.1 He was the Curate at Brannockstown, County Kildare, IrelandG.1

     Janetta Mary Brereton was baptised on 27 November 1776.1 She was the daughter of George Brereton and Janetta Brereton.2 She married, firstly, William Fraunceis, son of John Fraunceis, on 19 February 1796.1 She married, secondly, unknown Chapman after 1815.1 She married, thirdly, Frederick French Loder, son of John Loder and Bathsheba Wansey Cantelo, on 27 December 1837 at St. Martins in the Fields, London, EnglandG.1 She died in 1853 at St. Pancras, London, EnglandG.3
     From 19 February 1796, her married name became Fraunceis. From after 1815, her married name became Chapman.1 From 27 December 1837, her married name became Loder.

     William Fraunceis was the son of John Fraunceis.2 He married Janetta Mary Brereton, daughter of George Brereton and Janetta Brereton, on 19 February 1796.1 He died on 2 November 1815, without issue.1
     He lived at St. James Place, Taunton, Somerset, EnglandG.1

Anthony Alcock1
