     Very Rev. Hugh Christopher Lemprière Heywood was born on 5 November 1896.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Charles Christopher Heywood and Mildred Ella Lemprière.2 He married Margaret Marion Vizard, daughter of Herbert Vizard, on 14 January 1920.1 He died in 1987.1
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Indian Army.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1925 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Fellow and Dean between 1928 and 1945 at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1929 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Southwark in 1932.1 He was a university lecturer between 1933 and 1945.1 He was examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Southwell in 1942.1 He was Provost of Southwell between 1945 and 1969.1
