Grant and Elizabeth Vining.1 He married Harriet Ann Catherine Slagle, daughter of Charles Slagle and Malinda Eyster, on 29 June 1874 at Columbus, Nebraska, U.S.A.G.1 He died on 1 April 1929 at age 84.1 He was buried at Emerick Cemetery, Emerick, Nebraska, U.S.A.G.1
     He gained the rank of on 12 August 1861 in the 39th Regiment Illinois Volunteers.1 He fought in the American Civil War between 1861 and 1862, where he became a POW on 3 January 1862, and was exchanged on 22 February 1862.1 He was a farmer between 1862 and 1864 at Paynes Point, Illinois, U.S.A.G.1 He fought in the American Civil War between 1864 and 1865.1 He was a farmer and merchant between 1871 and 1890 at Emerick, Nebraska, U.S.A.G.1 He lived in 1890 at Madison, Nebraska, U.S.A.G.1 He lived in 1919 at Norfolk, Nebraska, U.S.A.G.1
