     Brig.-Gen. Bethel Wood Simpson was the son of Wendell Lee Simpson.2 He married Mary Laure Cecelia Byrne, daughter of Colonel Charles Borromeo Byrne and Anais T. Artaud, on 21 October 1912.1 He died on 17 February 1955.1
     He lived at Lansing, Michigan, U.S.A.G.1 He was awarded the Legion of Merit.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army.1 He developed and commanded Ordnance Replacement Training Centers in World War II.1
