Sir Thomas Charles Dewey, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Thomas Charles Dewey, 1st Bt. was born on 31 August 1840.1 He was the son of Charles Dewey and Caroline Ballard.2 He married Clara Daws, daughter of Thomas Daws, on 29 August 1866.1 He died on 13 July 1926 at age 85 at Peak House, Sidmouth, Devon, England.1,3
     He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 4th London (Howitzer) Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (TA.)1 He was president of Prudential Assurance Company.1 He was created 1st Baronet Dewey, of South Hill Wood, Bromley, Kent [U.K.] on 20 February 1917.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.1

     Clara Daws was the daughter of Thomas Daws.2 She married Sir Thomas Charles Dewey, 1st Bt., son of Charles Dewey and Caroline Ballard, on 29 August 1866.1 She died in 1913.1
     From 29 August 1866, her married name became Dewey.

     Marshall Dewey was born on 14 October 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Charles Dewey, 1st Bt. and Clara Daws.2 He married Ethel Julia Harvey, daughter of Charles Harvey, on 15 June 1897.1 He died on 25 November 1919 at age 45.1

     Kenneth Marshall Dewey was born on 17 September 1900.1 He was the son of Marshall Dewey and Ethel Julia Harvey.2 He married Mabel Barratt Jones Maddison, daughter of T. Maddison, on 3 October 1925.1 He died on 9 March 1937 at age 36.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1
