     Sir Alan Algernon Marion Durand, 3rd Bt. was born on 14 October 1893.¹ He was the son of Colonel Sir Edward Law Durand, 1st Bt. and Maude Ellen Heber-Percy.² He married, firstly, Vivien Enid Chamberlain, daughter of Herbert Chamberlain, on 5 February 1924.¹ He and Vivien Enid Chamberlain were divorced in 1936.¹ He married, secondly, Evelyn Sherbrooke Crane, daughter of Charles Anrold Crane, on 6 June 1944.¹ He died on 16 February 1971 at age 77.¹
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G, Cheltenham and RMA Woolwich.¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice and was wounded twice.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1917.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1919.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1940, in Belgium and France.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1942.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier in the Royal Artillery.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Durand, of Ruckley Grange, Shropshire [U.K., 1892] on 4 March 1955.¹ He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire between 1957 and 1971.¹

     Vivien Enid Chamberlain is the daughter of Herbert Chamberlain.² She married Sir Alan Algernon Marion Durand, 3rd Bt., son of Colonel Sir Edward Law Durand, 1st Bt. and Maude Ellen Heber-Percy, on 5 February 1924.¹ She and Sir Alan Algernon Marion Durand, 3rd Bt. were divorced in 1936.¹
     Her married name became Durand.

     Patricia Marion Durand was born on 1 March 1925.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Alan Algernon Marion Durand, 3rd Bt. and Vivien Enid Chamberlain.² She married, firstly, W/Cdr. Howard Rex English Rumsey, son of Captain Reginald English Rumsey, on 14 June 1960.¹ She married, secondly, Kenneth Alec James Booth on 26 June 1969.¹ She married, thirdly, Lt.-Col. Miles Matthew Lee Hudson, son of Maj.-Gen. Charles Edward Hudson, V.C. and Gladys Lee, on 26 June 2001.²
     From 14 June 1960, her married name became Rumsey. From 26 June 1969, her married name became Booth.¹ From 26 June 2001, her married name became Hudson. She lived in 2003 at The Priors Farm, Mattingley, Hook, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Captain Reginald English Rumsey lived at Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England^G.¹

     W/Cdr. Howard Rex English Rumsey was the son of Captain Reginald English Rumsey.² He married Patricia Marion Durand, daughter of Sir Alan Algernon Marion Durand, 3rd Bt. and Vivien Enid Chamberlain, on 14 June 1960.¹ He died on 8 August 1964.¹
