     Francis Longworth-Dames was born on 23 December 1789.2 He was the son of Thomas Longworth-Dames and Jane Burke.2 He married, firstly, Anna Hume, daughter of Reverend Travers Hume and Elizabeth Blaquier, on 5 June 1830.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Selina Smyth, daughter of Ralph Smyth and Anna Maria Staples, on 13 August 1839.2 He died on 6 October 1863 at age 73.2

     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1884 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was an assistant master in 1885 at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was an assistant master between 1886 and 1908 at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1893 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a house master between 1908 and 1921 at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1
