     Mary Anne Carthew was born on 6 March 1775 at Woodbridge, Suffolk, England.² She was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Carthew and Ann Denny.² She married Charles Dashwood, son of Jarrett Dashwood and Lorina Farr, on 1 October 1801 at St. Michael's Church, Beccles, Suffolk, England.² She died on 17 October 1828 at age 53 at Beccles, Suffolk, England, following an accident four months earlier, when her pony gig overturned.²
     From 1 October 1801, her married name became Dashwood.¹

     Agnes Maria Fairlie was born on 3 November 1801 at Calcutta, Bengal, India.² She was the daughter of William Fairlie and Margaret Ogilvy.¹ She married James Fairlie of Holms, son of James Fairlie and Sarah Bell, on 8 April 1821 at Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland.² She died on 22 May 1868 at age 66 at Holmes House, Ayrshire, Scotland.²

     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Crimean War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 75th Foot.¹ He was the Governor between 1880 and 1892 at Dartmoor Prison, Princetown, Devon, England^G.¹
