     Sir Christopher Furness, 2nd Bt. was born on 18 October 1900.1 He was the son of Sir Stephen Wilson Furness, 1st Bt. and Eleanor Forster.2 He married Violet Flower Chipchase Roberts, daughter of Lt.-Col. Gerard Chipchase Roberts, on 8 January 1930.1 He died on 21 June 1974 at age 73.1
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Furness, of Tunstall Grange, West Hartlepool, co. Durham [U.K., 1913] on 6 September 1914.1 He was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1940 in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1
