     Dame Flora Louisa Cecilia Macleod, 28th of Macleod was born on 3 January 1878 at Westminster, London, EnglandG.2,3 She is the daughter of Sir Reginald Macleod, 27th of MacLeod and Lady Agnes Mary Cecilia Northcote.2 She married Hubert Walter, son of John Walter and Flora MacNab, on 5 June 1901.4 She died in 1976.2
     From 5 June 1901, her married name became Walter.1 In 1933 her name was legally changed to Flora Louisa Cecilia MacLeod.2 In 1934 she succeeded her father in the Barony of Dunvegan.2 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Inverness-shire in 1935.2 She was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated her arms at the Lyons Court on 28 November 1935.2 She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1953.2
