     Sir James Harington, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir James Harington and Lucy Sydney.2 He married, firstly, Frances Sapcote, daughter of John Sapcote.1 He married, secondly, Anne Bernard, daughter of Francis Bernard.1 He died on 2 February 1613.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of Rutland circa 1593.1 He was created 1st Baronet Harington, of Ridlington, co. Rutland [England] on 29 June 1611.1
