     Henry Cavendish Butler, 8th Earl of Lanesborough was born on 2 June 1868 at Lanesbourgh Lodge, Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland.1 He was the son of Captain John Vansittart Danvers Butler, 6th Earl of Lanesborough and Anne Elizabeth Clark.2 He married, firstly, Isobel Daniell, daughter of Ralph Allen Daniell and Mary Imlay, on 27 November 1894 at Christchurch, New Zealand.1 He married, secondly, Grace Lilian Abdy, daughter of Captain Sir Anthony Charles Sykes Abdy, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Alexandrina Victoria Bosville Macdonald, on 6 December 1917 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.3 He died on 22 August 1950 at age 82 at Swithland Hall, Swithland, Leicestershire, England.1
     He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Lanesborough [I., 1756] on 18 August 1929.2 He succeeded as the 9th Viscount Lanesborough [I., 1728] on 18 August 1929.2 He succeeded as the 10th Baron Newtown Butler [I., 1715] on 18 August 1929.2

     Isobel Daniell was born in 1874 at Wanganui, New Zealand.1 She was the daughter of Ralph Allen Daniell and Mary Imlay.1 She married Henry Cavendish Butler, 8th Earl of Lanesborough, son of Captain John Vansittart Danvers Butler, 6th Earl of Lanesborough and Anne Elizabeth Clark, on 27 November 1894 at Christchurch, New Zealand.1 She died on 22 November 1905, on board S.S. Hilda, off St. Malo.1
     Her married name became Butler.

     Her married name became Valentine.

     Lady Hilda Vivien Butler usually went by her middle name of Vivien.1 Her married name became Younger. She was with the Auxiliary Territorial Service during teh Second World War.1

     Denis Anthony Brian Butler, 9th Earl of Lanesborough was born on 28 October 1918.1 He was the son of Henry Cavendish Butler, 8th Earl of Lanesborough and Grace Lilian Abdy.2 He married, firstly, Bettyne Ione Everard, daughter of Sir William Lindsay Everard and Cornelia Ione Kathleen Beresford-Armstrong, on 20 December 1939.1 He and Bettyne Ione Everard were divorced in 1950.1 He married, secondly, Patricia Julia Meston in 1995. He died on 21 December 1998 at age 80.
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.1 He fought in the Major, Leicestershire Yeomanry (TA.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Lanesborough [I., 1756] on 22 August 1950.2 He succeeded as the 11th Baron Newtown Butler [I., 1715] on 22 August 1950.2 He succeeded as the 10th Viscount Lanesborough [I., 1728] on 22 August 1950.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Leicestershire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Leicestershire in 1962.1 His titles expired on his death.
