     John Francis Ralph Massy-Westropp was born on 6 April 1891.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Massy-Westropp and Georgina Kennedy.2 He married Gabrielle Evelyn Montgimery, daughter of Colonel Charles Arnulf Shrewsbury Montgimery, on 9 August 1919.1 He died on 23 April 1960 at age 69 at County Clare, Ireland, without issue.1,3
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer between 1910 and 1913 in the 3rd Royal Munster Fusiliers.1 He gained the rank of officer between 1913 and 1934 in the Royal Irish Fusiliers.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in 1938 in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He lived at Ballyhannan, Quin, County Clare, Ireland.1
