     Hon. Lt. William Hamilton was born on 18 February 1721.1 He was the son of James Hamilton, 7th Earl of Abercorn and Anne Plumer.1 He died in 1744, lost in the H.M.S. Victory off Aldernay.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 15 December 1744, his brother, James.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1

     From 16 August 1746, her married name became Mackworth.1
