     Sir John Wriothesley Russell was born on 22 August 1914.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Wentworth Russell and Evelyn Corothea Temple Moore.1 He married Aliki Diplarakos, daughter of George Diplarakos, on 15 December 1945.1 He died in 1984.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1956 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1958.1 He was awarded the Coronation Medal in 1962.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Ethiopia between 1962 and 1966.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1965.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Brazil between 1966 and 1969.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1968.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Spain in 1969.1

     Aliki Diplarakos was the daughter of George Diplarakos.1 She married, firstly, Paul Louis Weiller, son of Jean Lazare Weiller and Alice Javel, in 1932.3 She married, secondly, Sir John Wriothesley Russell, son of Sir Thomas Wentworth Russell and Evelyn Corothea Temple Moore, on 15 December 1945.1 She died on 30 October 2002.1
     She was awarded the Miss Europe in 1930.4 From 1932, her married name became Weiller.1 Her married name became Russell.
