     Frances Maria Stephens was the daughter of General Edward Stephens.1 She married Field Marshal Hugh Gough, 1st Viscount Gough of Goojerat, son of Lt.-Col. George Gough and Letitia Bunbury, on 3 June 1807.1 She died on 15 March 1863.1
     From 3 June 1807, her married name became Gough.1 After her marriage, Frances Maria Stephens was styled as Baroness Gough of Chinkangfoo on 25 April 1846. After her marriage, Frances Maria Stephens was styled as Viscountess Gough of Goojerat on 15 June 1849.
