     Sir John Houstoun of that Ilk, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir John Houstoun of that Ilk, 3rd Bt. and Margaret Shaw.2 He married Eleanor Cathcart, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Charles Cathcart, 8th Lord Cathcart and Marion Shaw, on 12 February 1744 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3,2,4 He died on 27 July 1751, without issue.2
     He gained the title of 4th Baronet Houstoun.

     John Archibald Shaw-Stewart was born on 15 September 1829.2 He was the son of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart of Greenhall and Blackhall, 6th Bt. and Eliza Mary Farquhar.2 He married, firstly, Helenora Margaret Angela Alexander, daughter of Boyd Alexander, on 27 August 1857.2 He married, secondly, Isabella Barbara Hume, daughter of Thomas Cochrane Hume, in April 1881.1 He married, thirdly, Constance Mary Johnston, daughter of Edward Johnston, on 21 January 1886.2 He died on 25 May 1900 at age 70.2
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Renfrewshire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Middlesex.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Renfrewshire.2

     Eliza Stewart Hagart of Bantaskine is the daughter of Thomas Campbell Hagart and Elizabeth Stewart.2 She married Alexander Spiers, 3rd of Elderslie, son of Archibald Spiers, 2nd of Elderslie and Hon. Margaret Dundas, on 22 June 1836.1,2 She married Edward Ellice, son of Rt. Hon. Edward Ellice and Lady Hannah Althea Grey, in 1867.3
     From 22 June 1836, her married name became Spiers.1 From 1867, her married name became Ellice.3
