Richard Harcourt Vanden Bempdé Johnstone was born on 4 January 1875.1 He was the son of Colonel Richard Johnstone and Anna Maria Emmeline Clayton.2 He died on 28 September 1892 at age 17.1

Frederick Charles Johnstone was born on 18 February 1828.1 He was the son of Richard James Johnstone and Matilda Jane Gilder.2 He married Helen Kathleen Alexander, daughter of Colonel unknown Alexander, on 1 September 1860.1 He died on 26 September 1907 at age 79.1
