     Sir George Morris was born in April 1833.1 He was the son of Martin Morris and Julia Blake.2 He married Elizabeth Christina O'Connor-Henchy, daughter of David O'Connor-Henchy and Elizabeth Anne Burke, on 6 April 1875.1 He died on 11 September 1912 at age 79.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Galway between 1860 and 1861.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Galway between 1867 and 1868.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Galway between 1874 and 1880.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Galway.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Galway.1 He was Commissioner of Local Government Board, Ireland between 1890 and 1891.1 He was Vice-President of Local Government Board, Ireland between 1891 and 1898.1
