     Alexander Macdonald, 6th of Kingsburgh was born circa 1689.¹ He is the son of Donald Macdonald, 5th of Kingsburgh and Margaret Nicolson of Scorriebank.¹ He married Florence Macdonald, daughter of John Macdonald, 2nd of Castleton and Anne MacLean.¹ He died on 18 January 1772.¹
     In 1746 he entertained Bonnie Prince Charlie at Kingsburgh.²

     Anne MacDonald is the daughter of Alexander Macdonald, 6th of Kingsburgh and Florence Macdonald.^2,3 She married Ranald MacAlister, son of John 'dubh' MacAlister and Flora McNeill, in 1742.¹
     From 1742, her married name became MacAlister.
