     Major Francis Charles MacDermot was born on 25 November 1886.1 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Hugh Hyacinth O'Rorke MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Henrietta Maria Blake.2 He married Elaine Orr, daughter of Seth Alexander Orr, on 17 March 1925.1 He died in 1975.1
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he he was mentioned in despatches four times.1 He graduated from Queen's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was a Sunday Times correspondent in Ireland, New York and Paris.1 He was founder and leader of the National Centre Party.1 He held the office of Member of the Deal [Ireland] between 1932 and 1937, for County Roscommon.1 He was biographer of Wolfe Tone.1 He held the office of Senator [Ireland] between 1937 and 1942.1

     Elaine Orr was the daughter of Seth Alexander Orr.2 She married, firstly, Scofield Thayer before 1925.1 She married, secondly, Major Francis Charles MacDermot, son of Rt. Hon. Hugh Hyacinth O'Rorke MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Henrietta Maria Blake, on 17 March 1925.1 She died on 24 July 1974.1
     From before 1925, her married name became Thayer.1 From 17 March 1925, her married name became MacDermot.

     Brian Hugh Dermot MacDermot was born on 2 December 1930.1 He was the son of Major Francis Charles MacDermot and Elaine Orr.2 He married Georgina Maria Gallwey, daughter of Dayrell Gallwey, on 23 March 1985.1 He died on 12 September 2013 at age 82.3
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1952 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1952 and 1955 in the Irish Guards.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)1 He was partner of Panmure Gordon & Company.1 He was member of the London Stock Exchange.1 He wrote the book Cult of the Sacred Spear, published 1972.1 He lived in 2003 at Clock House, Rutland Gate, London, EnglandG.1
