     Leonard Aubrey Frank Hyde-Upward is the son of Frank Upward and Harriet Palmer Wheeler.2,3 He married Patricia McGillycuddy, daughter of Richard Hugh McGillycuddy and Ethel Florence Lukey, on 1 January 1958.1
     He was given the name of Leonard Aubrey Frank Upward at birth.3 He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant on 5 November 1914 in the 10th Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.4
