     Alan Murray Mackinnon was born on 19 April 1860.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Daniel Henry Loudoun Mackinnon and Caroline Dimsdale.2 He died on 3 April 1920 at age 59.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Assistant Private Secretary to the Postmaster-General, Sir James Ferguson.1
