     Robert McComie was the son of John McComie, 1st of Forter and Elizabeth Campbell.2 He died in 1672, killed in an affray, with the Farquharsons of Broughdearg, unmarried.1

Thomas McComie, 3rd of Forter, 9th Chief1

     Thomas McComie, 3rd of Forter, 9th Chief was the son of John McComie, 1st of Forter and Elizabeth Campbell.2 He died, without male issue.1
     Between 1678 and 1681 he was mentioned in proclamations among chiefs required to give bond for good behaviour of their followers.1 He sold Forter in 1681.1 In 1682 in the Royal Commission of Fire and Sword granted to Lachlan, 19th of Mackintosh against the MacDonnells in Keppoch.1 On his death, his Chieftainship became dormant.1

     Angus MacThomas is the son of John McComie, 1st of Forter and Elizabeth Campbell.2 He married Elizabeth Balfour, daughter of Sir James Balfour, 1st Bt..1
     He was educated at St. Andrew's University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.1 He held the position of 10th, de jure Chief of the Clan MacThomas from.1 He was also known as Angus McComie.1 He traditionally removed to Collairnie, Fife, and assumed the surname of Thomas.1

     He was ancestor of the Aberdeenshire sept of McCombie, the McCombies of Easterskene, Tillyfour, etc.1
