     Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarony, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Murray of Blackbarony, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Cockburn.2 He married Lady Mary Keith, daughter of William Keith, 6th Earl Marischal and Lady Elizabeth Seton.2 He died circa 1700.3
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) of the Sheriffdom of Selkirk and Peebles in 1659.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1661 and 1663.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire in 1667.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Murray, of Blackbarony, co. Peebles [N.S., 1628] between 1667 and 1669.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1669 in the Linlithgowshire and Peebles-shire Militia.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1669 and 1674.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire in 1678.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire from 1681 to 1682.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1683 and 1686.1 He held the office of Master of the Works in 1689.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1689 and 1700.1

     Sir Alexander Murray of Blackbarony, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarony, 3rd Bt. and Lady Mary Keith.2 He married Margaret Wallace, daughter of William Wallace of Helington, on 28 July 1687.1 He died on 31 December 1741, without issue.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Murray, of Blackbarony, co. Peebles [N.S., 1628] circa 1700.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1700 and 1702.1 He held the office of Sheriff Depute of Peebles-shire in 1732.1

     Margaret Wallace is the daughter of William Wallace of Helington.2 She married Sir Alexander Murray of Blackbarony, 4th Bt., son of Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarony, 3rd Bt. and Lady Mary Keith, on 28 July 1687.1
     From 28 July 1687, her married name became Murray.
