     Helen Houstoun was the daughter of Sir John Houstoun of that Ilk, 3rd Bt. and Margaret Shaw.2 She married Sir Michael Stewart, 3rd Bt., son of John Stewart and Rebecca Wallace, in June 1738.1 She died on 19 July 1746.1
     From June 1738, her married name became Stewart.

Sir John Shaw-Stewart of Blackhall and Greenock, 4th Bt.1

     Sir John Shaw-Stewart of Blackhall and Greenock, 4th Bt. was born circa 1740.1 He was the son of Sir Michael Stewart, 3rd Bt. and Helen Houstoun.2 He married Frances Colhoun, daughter of Robert Colhoun, in April 1786.1 He died on 7 August 1812, without issue.1
     He was given the name of John Stewart at birth.2 In 1752 his name was legally changed to John Shaw-Stewart on inheriting Easter Greenock and Finnart estates from his great-uncle Sir John Shaw of Greenock.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Renfrewshire between 1780 and 1783.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Renfrewshire between 1786 and 1796.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Stewart, of Greenock and Blackhall, co. Renfrew [N.S., 1667] on 20 October 1796.1

     Houston Stewart-Nicolson was the son of Sir Michael Stewart, 3rd Bt. and Helen Houstoun.2 He married Margaret Porterfield, daughter of Boyd Porterfield of that Ilk, on 19 March 1765.1 He died in 1785.1
     He was also known as Houston Stewart.2 In 1752 his name was legally changed to Houston Stewart-Nicolson on inheriting the Carnock estate from Sir John Houston of Houston, 4th Bt.2

     Margaret Porterfield is the daughter of Boyd Porterfield of that Ilk.2 She married Houston Stewart-Nicolson, son of Sir Michael Stewart, 3rd Bt. and Helen Houstoun, on 19 March 1765.1
     From 19 March 1765, her married name became Stewart-Nicolson.

     Mary Agnes Chisholm is the daughter of James Chisholm of Chisholm.2 She married Charles St. Clair, 4th/13th Lord Sinclair, son of Andrew St. Clair of Herdmanston and Elizabeth Rutherford, on 13 February 1802.3 She died on 16 July 1814.3
     From 13 February 1802, her married name became St. Clair.
