     William Macfie was born on 18 May 1776.¹ He was the son of Robert Macfie of Langhouse and Mary Andrew.¹ He married, firstly, Jessie Johnston on 18 April 1808.¹ He married, secondly, Janet Marshall, daughter of Claud Marshall and Janet Fairie, on 30 August 1819.¹ He died on 11 November 1854 at age 78 at Langhouse, Scotland.¹
     He was a sugar refiner.¹

     Jessie Johnston was born on 9 December 1786.¹ She married William Macfie, son of Robert Macfie of Langhouse and Mary Andrew, on 18 April 1808.¹ She died on 10 May 1817 at age 30 at Langhouse, Scotland.¹
     From 18 April 1808, her married name became Macfie.¹
