     Sir Nicholas Robert O'Conor was born on 3 July 1843.1 He was the son of Patrick O'Conor and Jane French.2 He married Minna Margaret Hope-Scott, daughter of James Robert Hope-Scott and Lady Victoria Alexandrina Fitzalan-Howard, on 13 April 1887.1 He died on 19 March 1908 at age 64.1
     He was Dip Serv: joined , Envoy Extrdy and Minister Plen China 1892–95, Amb Extrdy and Plen Russia by 1896, Amb Ottoman Empire 1898–1908 in 1866.1 He was with the Diplomatic Service in 1866.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1886.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1886.1 He was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to China between 1892 and 1895.2 He lived at Dundermott, County Roscommon, Ireland.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1895.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Galway.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Roscommon.1 He held the office of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia before 1896.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1896.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1896.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1897.1 He held the office of Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire between 1898 and 1908.2
