     Lt.-Col. Hugh Alexander Hope was born on 16 July 1914.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir John Augustus Hope of Craighall, 16th Bt. and Hon. Mary Bruce.2 He married Cynthia Evelyn Turnor, daughter of Lt.-Col. Algernon Corbet Turnor, on 26 July 1949.1 He died on 10 April 1982 at age 67 at Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.1,3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Worcester College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, and was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was admitted to Gentlemen-at-Arms.2 He fought in the East Africa Campaign between 1955 and 1956, and was mentioned in despatches.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1956.1

     Carl Raymond Davis was born on 12 January 1874.2 He married, firstly, Clara May Wood, daughter of Charles Wood, in 1899.2 He married, secondly, Margaret Elizabeth Stewart, daughter of C. J. Stewart, after 1921.2 He married, thirdly, Dorothy Muir Johnston, daughter of Robert Deans Johnston, between 1944 and 1956.3 He died on 16 January 1956 at age 82 at Villa Berg, Claremont, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.2
     He was educated at Michigan College of Mines, Michigan, U.S.A.2 He was manager of the Lancaster and Lancaster West mines between 1905 and 1911 at South Africa.2 He was general manager of the Brakpan mine between 1911 and 1918.2 He was consulting engineer for Anglo-American Corporation of South Africa between 1918 and 1928.2 He was technical director of Anglo-American Corporation in 1928.2
