     Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt. was born on 25 September 1842.1 He was the son of Scott Powell and Eliza Meeke.2 He married, firstly, Juliet Bennett, daughter of Sir John Bennett, on 30 October 1873.1 He married, secondly, Edith Mary Burke Wood, daughter of Henry Wood, on 16 October 1917.1 He died on 15 December 1925 at age 83.1
     Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt. usually went by his middle name of Douglas.1 He was educated at Streatham Grammar School, Streatham, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was educated at University College London, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from London University, London, EnglandG, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was Physician Extraordinary to HM Queen Victoria between 1887 and 1899.1 He was created 1st Baronet Powell, of Wimpole Street, London [U.K.] on 5 March 1897.1 He was Physician-in-Ordinary between 1899 and 1901.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.)1 He was Physician Extraordinary to HM King Edward II between 1901 and 1907.1 He was President of the Royal College of Physicians, London between 1905 and 1916.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (Hon. LL.D.) by Aberdeen University, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG, in 1906.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (Hon. LL.D.) by Birmingham University, Birmingham, Warwickshire, EnglandG, in 1909.1 He was Physician-in-Ordinary to HM King George V between 1910 and 1925.1 He was deputy chairman of the Clerical, Medical and General Life Association.1 He wrote the book On Diseases of the Lungs and Heart, published 1914.1 He wrote the book On Advances in Knowledge regarding the Circulation and Attributes of the Blood since Harvey's Time.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)1 He was appointed Knight of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.)1

Charles Folliott Powell1

     Charles Folliott Powell was the son of Scott Powell and Eliza Meeke.2 He died in 1878, killed in action.1
     He fought in the Afghan War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Gurkhas.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 96th Foot.1

     Reverend Henry Arnott married Emily Mary Armett Powell, daughter of Scott Powell and Eliza Meeke.1 He died on 14 April 1855.1
     He held the office of Honorary Canon.1 He was the Rector at Beckenham, Kent, England.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)1

     Juliet Bennett was the daughter of Sir John Bennett.2 She married Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt., son of Scott Powell and Eliza Meeke, on 30 October 1873.1 She died on 18 March 1909.1
     She held the office of Sheriff of London between 1871 and 1872.1 From 30 October 1873, her married name became Powell.1

     Sir Douglas Powell, 2nd Bt. was born on 8 July 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt. and Juliet Bennett.2 He married Albinia Mariel Powell, daughter of William Folliott Powell, on 10 February 1904, |They were distant cousins.1 He died on 28 February 1932 at age 57.1
     He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He was Major.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Welch Fusiliers.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Powell, of Wimpole Street, London [U.K., 1897] on 15 December 1925.1

     Charles Folliott Borradaile Powell was born on 19 December 1879.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt. and Juliet Bennett.2 He died on 13 July 1901 at age 21, killed in action.1
     He fought in the Boer War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.1

     Scott Powell was born on 10 April 1885.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt. and Juliet Bennett.2 He died on 4 April 1916 at age 30 at Mesopotamia, from wounds received in action.1
     He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 8th Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers.1

Dorothy Juliet Powell1

     Dorothy Juliet Powell was the daughter of Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt. and Juliet Bennett.2 She married Edward Arthur Leadam, son of William Ward Leadam, on 22 February 1900.1 She died on 14 August 1946, leaving issue.1
     From 22 February 1900, her married name became Leadam.1
