Sir Walter Seton of Abercorn, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Walter Seton of Abercorn, 1st Bt. was the son of Alexander Seton of Kilcreuch and Margaret Cornwall.2 He married Christian Dundas, daughter of George Dundas of Dundas and Elizabeth Hamilton.1 He died on 20 February 1692, with other issue.1
     He lived at Northbank, Scotland.1 In 1662 he had charter of the Barony of Abercorn, Linlithgowshire.1 He was created 1st Baronet Seton, of Abercorn, co. Linlithgow [Nova Scotia] on 3 June 1663, apparently with remainder to his heirs male whatsoever.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Linlithgowshire in 1665.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Linlithgowshire in 1667.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Linlithgowshire between 1669 and 1674.1 He sold the territorial Barony of Abercorn, Linlithgowshire to the Hopes circa 1672.1
