Maud Sophie Childers Thompson was the daughter of Captain Stephen Henry Childers Thompson.2 She married Captain Frederic Cathcart Guy St. Clair, son of Admiral William Home Chisholm St. Clair and Emma Searle Slight, on 17 May 1912.1 She died on 23 July 1962.1

Derek Charles St. Clair-Stannard was born on 16 August 1919.1 He was the son of Captain Frederic Cathcart Guy St. Clair and Maud Sophie Childers Thompson.2 He married Elizbeth Ann Baskett, daughter of Douglas Charles Baskett, on 4 April 1953.1 He died on 5 January 2013 at age 93.3
He was given the name of Derek Charles St. Clair at birth. He was educated at Ottershaw School, Surrey, EnglandG.1 In 1939 his name was legally changed to Derek Charles St. Clair-Stannard by Deed Poll. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1 He was with the Foreign Service between 1947 and 1954.1 He was public relations officer for the Royal Agricultural Society between 1955 and 1970.1 He was director of Derek Stannard PR between 1970 and 1985.1 He lived in 2003 at The Priory, 33 Church Street, Godalming, Surrey, England.1
