     Liulf (?) was the son of Edulf (?)2 He died circa 1118.1
     He was one of the earliest Sheriffs under the Crown on record, as well as the first individual subject in Scotland whose ownership of land can be proved by contemporary writings still in existence.1 He held the office of Sheriff of the Northumbrians.1 Before 1098 he held by Bamburgh and Swinton.1

     He held Swinton, North of the Border, from the monks of St. Cuthbert.1 Bamburgh and Swinton were confirmed by King Stephen in his hereditary right to all his father's land under the English Crown.1

     John William Lewis Dening was born on 2 August 1911 at Bengal, India.1 He was the son of Lewis Eales Dening and Florence Annie Elizabeth Taunton.1 He married Patricia Dacre Morton, daughter of Captain Herbert Claude Morton and Evelyn St. Aubyn Lennard Barrett, on 18 June 1935 at St. Margeret, Westminster, London, England.1 He died on 10 September 1952 at age 41 at London, England.1
