     Mary Anne Webb was born circa 1818 at Rickling, Essex, England.2 She was the daughter of William Webb.1 She married Captain Henry Byng, son of Vice-Admiral Hon. Henry Dilkes Byng and Maria Jane Clerke, on 10 June 1839 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.1,2 She died on 25 November 1852.1
     From 10 June 1839, her married name became Byng.

     Lt.-Col. Alfred Molyneux Cranmer-Byng was born on 19 March 1840.1 He was the son of Captain Henry Byng and Mary Anne Webb.2 He married, firstly, Caroline Mary Tufnell, daughter of Rt. Hon. Henry Tufnell and Hon. Frances Byng, on 20 June 1870.1 He married, secondly, Emma Evangeline Ker Baillie-Hamilton, daughter of Ker Baillie-Hamilton and Emma Blair, on 14 February 1888.1 He died on 20 May 1906 at age 66.1
     He was given the name of Alfred Molyneux Byng at birth.1 On 1 February 1882 his name was legally changed to Alfred Molyneux Cranmer-Byng by Royal Licence.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.1 He lived at Quendon Hall, Essex, England.1

     Caroline Mary Tufnell was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Henry Tufnell and Hon. Frances Byng.2 She married Lt.-Col. Alfred Molyneux Cranmer-Byng, son of Captain Henry Byng and Mary Anne Webb, on 20 June 1870.1 She died on 31 January 1887.1
     From 20 June 1870, her married name became Byng. Her long name was Cranmer-Byng.

Launcelot Alfred Cranmer Cranmer-Byng1

     Launcelot Alfred Cranmer Cranmer-Byng was born on 23 November 1872.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alfred Molyneux Cranmer-Byng and Caroline Mary Tufnell.2 He married Harriet Hammersley, daughter of Isaac Hammersley, on 4 March 1894.1 He married Daisy Elaine Beach, daughter of N. B. Beach, on 30 March 1916.1 He died on 15 January 1945 at age 72.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Territorial Forces Reserve.1 He was Commandant of a POW Camp in 1917.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)1 He lived at Folly Mill, Thaxted, Essex, England.1

John Launcelot Cranmer-Byng1

     John Launcelot Cranmer-Byng was born on 18 March 1919.1 He was the son of Launcelot Alfred Cranmer Cranmer-Byng and Daisy Elaine Beach.2 He married Margaret Ellen Hardy, daughter of R. H. Hardy, on 19 January 1955.1 He died on 6 April 1999 at age 80.1
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1945.1 He did his National Service as a Major in the Airborne Forces.1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1944 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1944.1 He was a history lecturer at Hong Kong University, Hong KongG.1 He was Professor of History at Toronto University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.1
