     Maj.-Gen. Hugh Manley Tuite was born on 7 October 1811.1 He was the son of Sir George Tuite, 9th Bt. and Janet (?)2 He married Frances Maria Williams, daughter of Lt.-Col. Richard Williams, on 21 August 1854.1 He died on 4 January 1889 at age 77.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.1
