     Sir Robert Stuart Usher, 4th Bt. was born on 19 April 1898.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert Usher, 2nd Bt. and Katherine Scott Turnbull.² He married Gertrude Martha Sampson, daughter of Lionel Barnard Sampson, on 12 December 1930.¹ He died on 10 November 1962 at age 64.¹
     Sir Robert Stuart Usher, 4th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Stuart.¹ He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Inniskilling Dragoons.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Bronze Medal in 1927.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Usher, of Norton, Ratho, co.      He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Usher, of Norton, Ratho, co. Midlothian and of Wells, Hobkirk, co. Roxburgh [U.K., 1899] on 19 November 1962.¹

     Sir Robert Edward Usher, 6th Bt. was born on 18 April 1934.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert Stuart Usher, 4th Bt. and Gertrude Martha Sampson.² He died on 26 September 1994 at age 60, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Usher, of Norton, Ratho, co. Midlothian and of Wells, Hobkirk, co. Roxburgh [U.K., 1899] on 1 June 1990.¹

     Major Alexander Balmer Usher was born on 8 March 1902.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert Usher, 2nd Bt. and Katherine Scott Turnbull.² He died in June 1940 at age 38 at France, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Lothian and Border Horse Yeomanry.¹
