     Sir Walter James Womersley, 1st Bt. was born on 5 February 1878.1 He was the son of William Womersley and Mary Ann Green.1 He married Anne Stamp, daughter of John Stamp, on 23 January 1905.1 He died on 15 March 1961 at age 83.1
     He was educated at Usher Street Boarding School, Bradford, Yorkshire, England.1 He was senior partner of Usher and Stamp, house furnishers at Grimsby, Yorkshire, England.1 He held the office of Mayor of Grimsby between 1922 and 1923.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Grimsby between 1924 and 1945.1 He was appointed Knight in 1934.1 He held the office of Assistant Postmaster-General between 1935 and 1939.1 He held the office of Minister of Pensions between 1939 and 1945.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1941.1 He was created 1st Baronet Womersley, of Grimsby, co. Lincoln [U.K.] on 3 September 1945.1 He was President of National Chamber of Trade in 1946.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Yorkshire.1

     He gained the rank of Captain in the 16th Lancers.1

     Sir Frederick Philip Alfred William Wombwell, 6th Bt. was born on 6 July 1910.1 He is the son of Frederick Adolphus Wombwell and Gertrude May Smith.2 He married Ida Elizabeth Leitch, daughter of Frederick John Leitch, on 1 February 1936.1 He died on 4 April 1977 at age 66.1
     Sir Frederick Philip Alfred William Wombwell, 6th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Philip.1 He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, England.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Wombwell, of Wombwell, co. Yorks [G.B., 1778] on 1 February 1926.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers, Movement Control.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1944.1
