     Reverend Thomas Hutton Croft was born on 19 August 1797 at Aldborough Hall, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert Nicholas Croft and Elizabeth Wanley Bowes.1 He was baptised on 15 April 1798 at Rowley, Yorkshire, England.1 He married Eliza Mary Thompson, daughter of Richard John Thompson and Elizabeth Turton, on 27 September 1828 at Little Ouseburn, Yorkshire, England.1 He died on 23 June 1873 at age 75.1
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Prebendary of Stillington in 1831.1

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Yorkshire Hussars.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2
