     Aldred Clement Rowden was born in 1888 at Worthing, Sussex, England.2 He was the son of Aldred William Rowden and Mabel Ellen Empson.1,2 He married Muriel Christian Maitland Makgill Crichton, daughter of Andrew Coventry Maitland Makgill Crichton and Katharine Charlotte Hulse, on 16 July 1913.1 He died on 30 December 1935.1
     He was Registrar of the Corp of Sons of Clergy.1

     She gained the rank of Section Officer in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force.1 She fought in the Second World War, where she was mentioned in despatches.1 She was awarded the Croix de Guerre with star.1
