     Captain Richard Dickinson was born circa 1788.1 He married Jane Splatt Searle, daughter of Rear-Admiral Thomas Searle and Anne Maddock, on 28 February 1828 at St. Andrew's Church, Plymouth, Devon, England.1 He died on 1 January 1840.1
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Battle of Navarino.1
