David Keightley Rideal Oliver was born on 4 July 1949.1 He is the son of Peter Raymond Oliver, Baron Oliver of Aylmerton and Mary Chichester Rideal.1 He married, firstly, Maria Luisa Mirasierras, daughter of Juan Mirasierras, in 1972.1 He and Maria Luisa Mirasierras were divorced in 1987.1 He married, secondly, Judith Britannia Caroline Powell, daughter of David Henry John Griffiths Powell, on 20 February 1988.1
