     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dartmouth in 1586.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1589.1

     He was Visitor and Commissioner for Suppression of the Monasteries.2 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He lived at St. Oswalds, Yorkshire, England.1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1531 with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)2 He was appointed Knight in 1544.2
