     Sir Anthony Arthur Duncan Montague Browne was born on 8 May 1923.1 He was the son of Colonel Andrew Duncan Montague Browne.1 He married, firstly, Evelyn Noel Arnold-Wallinger in 1950.1 He and Evelyn Noel Arnold-Wallinger were divorced in 1970.1 He married, secondly, Shelagh Mulligan in 1970.1 He died on 1 April 2013 at age 89.1
     He was educated at Magadelen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.) in 1945.1 He was private secretary to Winston Churchill between 1952 and 1965.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1955.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1965.1 He wrote the book Long Sunset: Memoirs of Winston Churchill’s Last Private Secretary, published 1995.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 2000.1
